What You'll Do
As Sustainability Manager, you'll lead the resort's sustainability strategy while inspiring associates, guests, and industry partners to actively participate in our environmental journey. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the resort's sustainability strategy.
• Managing sustainability projects and environmental initiatives across all departments.
• Supporting the resort's journey toward becoming Carbon Negative.
• Coordinating and maintaining internationally recognized certifications, including LEED®, Green Globe, Travelife, and Carbon Neutrality.
• Monitoring sustainability performance, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, certification requirements, and company standards.
• Developing sustainability awareness programs and delivering training for associates.
• Serving as an ambassador for Bucuti & Tara's sustainability efforts by engaging with guests, journalists, travel advisors, tour operators, industry partners, educational institutions, community organizations, government agencies, and sustainability professionals to share our environmental initiatives and inspire responsible tourism.
• Collaborating with department leaders to embed sustainable practices throughout the resort.
• Identifying innovative technologies and solutions that enhance environmental performance while improving operational efficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading sustainability initiatives or environmental projects.
• Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental management systems, and certification programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch and Spanish are an advantage.
• Hospitality or tourism experience is preferred.
