The Sustainability Manager is responsible for the organization's sustainability programs, projects, and certifications. You will lead the research and analysis of different sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with local rules and regulations and hotel expectations and standards.

As our sustainability manager, you are the lead for the implementation of the resort's sustainability strategy and achieving sustainability goals including for the resort to become carbon negative. You lead the resort successfully through the certification audits and achieve re-certification of LEED, TravelLife, GreenGlobe, and Carbon Neutrality.

It is expected as well from the Sustainability Manager to be the person who will interact with guests, journalists, travel professionals and associates implementing different awareness campaigns to keep them engaged and informed on our sustainability efforts. 

REQUIREMENTS

- Passion for and interest in sustainability 
- Experience in leading sustainable projects
- Embraces change, new technology, and efficiency
- A problem solver and solution-oriented with a customer-focused approach
- Strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure

QUALIFICATIONS

- Have a strong drive for sustainability and a proven track record in the field
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in environmental science
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
- Proficiency in English. Dutch and Spanish are a plus
